Source app filters
Ignore clipboard changes from specific applications (desktop).
Prevent ClipaX from recording copies that originate from apps you choose to ignore. Useful for password managers, screenshot tools, or chat apps you do not want in shared history.
Desktop only — Settings → Filters is hidden on iPhone and Android.
How it works
When clipboard monitoring is enabled, each new entry may include a source app (bundle ID / process) reported by the OS. If that app is on your ignore list, the copy is dropped before it appears in history or sync.
Ignoring an app does not delete past items from that app.
Add apps to the ignore list
- Open Settings → Filters.
- Search for an app by name or bundle ID.
- Tap Ignore (or equivalent) to add it to the ignored list.
- Remove entries from the list when you no longer need the filter.
Apps are discovered from your existing history database, so you may need at least one prior copy from an app before it appears in search.
Combine with monitoring toggle
For temporary privacy, you can instead disable Enable clipboard monitoring under General — that stops all capture until you turn it back on.
Filters are better when you only want to block a few noisy apps.
Platform notes
| Platform | Source app metadata |
|---|---|
| Windows / macOS / Linux | Usually available |
| iOS / Android | Filters UI not shown; limited source metadata |
Tips
- After adding filters, copy once from a test app to verify the item does not appear.
- Cloud Sync will not upload ignored copies because they are never stored locally.
