Cloud Sync cache
Manage local cache retention and clear synced data cache.
Cloud Sync stores encrypted payloads on your provider (WebDAV, Google Drive, or Dropbox). ClipaX also keeps a local cache on disk to speed up browsing and reduce repeated downloads.
Configure cache under Settings → Cloud Sync (available when sync is enabled and you are signed in with Pro+Sync).
Cache retention
Adjust cache retention (slider) to control how long cached sync artifacts stay on your device. Shorter values save disk space; longer values improve offline browsing of recently synced items.
Changes apply going forward; run Clear cache to force immediate reclaim.
Clear cache
The Clear cache action clears sync-related data on this device. It removes:
- Local transfer cache — temporary files from push/pull sync operations
- Local encrypted sync copies — on-device copies of your encrypted sync payloads (only what ClipaX has stored locally on this device)
Clear cache does not:
- Delete your clipboard history list by itself
- Delete encrypted sync blobs from Google Drive, Dropbox, or WebDAV in the cloud (remote files and other signed-in devices are unchanged)
Use clear cache when:
- Troubleshooting sync display issues
- Reclaiming disk space after disabling sync
- Switching cloud providers
Steps
- Open Settings → Cloud Sync.
- Confirm sync is configured.
- Adjust retention if needed.
- Tap Clear cache and wait for the confirmation toast.
If clear fails, check network login state and try signing out and back in — see FAQ.
Tips
- After changing providers, clear cache to avoid stale metadata.
