Tags, categories & favorites
Organize history with sidebar categories (desktop), tags, favorites, and mobile swipe actions.
ClipaX gives you three complementary ways to find clips again: categories (one bucket per item), tags (many labels; Pro / Pro+Sync), and favorites (quick filter). Desktop and mobile expose these differently—see screenshots below.
Categories (desktop-first workflow)
Categories group items by project, client, or topic. On desktop:
- Open the sidebar category list.
- Drag a history row onto a category or use the item menu → Move to category.
- Choose Clear category to clear the assignment.

Tags
Tags are available on Pro and Pro+Sync only.
Add multiple tags per item (for example api, design, temp). To filter the list, select a tag in the sidebar Tags section or use the Filter field at the bottom of the sidebar (same as Search & filters).
Open the item in Canvas and tap the Tags action on the canvas toolbar to add or edit tags:

Favorites
Tap or click the star on a row to favorite. Use the Favorites filter in the toolbar to show only starred clips. Favorites sync with your account when Cloud Sync is enabled.
Mobile: swipe actions
On iOS and Android there is no sidebar drag target. Gestures differ between phone and tablet:
- Swipe right on a row to favorite or unfavorite (toggles the star).
- Phone: Swipe left to reveal More and Delete. Tap More for other row actions in a sheet. A full left swipe can delete the item.
- Tablet: Swipe left to delete. Long-press a row for the More menu — same options as desktop right-click.

On phone, open More from the left swipe to assign a category. On tablet, use long-press for the same actions. Data matches desktop; only the gesture path differs.

Tips
- Create a few broad categories first; add tags (Pro / Pro+Sync) for cross-cutting labels.
- Combine Search & filters with category or tag filters for large histories.
- Plans — tags require Pro or Pro+Sync; categories and favorites are available on all plans.
